22 Japanese Dekotora Art Trucks

Dekotora, Japanese for “decoration truck,” is a subculture in Japan among truck drivers and teamsters. The drivers trick out their trucks with tons of loud decorations like chrome add-ons, spinners and neon lights, which blaze through the night. Sometimes referred to as “Art Trucks,” these vehicles first came into fashion in the 1970s after the success of a movie series called Truck Guys. Many of the trucks have Gundam-influenced designs thanks to the proliferation of mecha art in the 1990s and 21st century.
